If you are interested in anti-aging products making use of Chinese herbology, the Bio-Qi Complete Skin Care System may be the product you are looking for. It is a skin care system founded by cosmetic surgeon Dr. Marc Kerner in 2004, which consists of four products–Bamboo Salt Cleanser, Rejuvenating Antioxidant Cream, Rejuvenating Soothing Serum, and Microdermabrasion Scrub.

Most of the ingredients are plant extracts and other naturally derived ingredients. One of the ingredients is Alpha Lipoic Acid, which is said to have antioxidant properties and is used in most skin care cosmetics. Another ingredient is Allantoin, said to stimulate the growth of skin tissues. Other ingredients include Green Tea Extract, and Dimethylamoniethanol.

What is alarming in the ingredients of Bio-Qi are the Aluminum Oxide Crystals found in the Microdermabrasion Scrub. These crystals have been found to have negative side effects, such as low-grade fever, itchy eyes and throat, headaches, and even respiratory ailments. Ingredients such as Argireline and Matrixyl, which are more proven to fight wrinkles, cannot be found in the ingredients list.

Though there are no prices available online, the fact that the Bio-Qi Skin Care System makes use of four products makes it look like the skin care regimen might be costly. Some products also offer the same benefits in just one simple item.

To date, Bio-Qi still has no official website where one can get more information. Hence, no reviews or clinical trials supporting the effectiveness of Bio-Qi can also be found.
